BEFORE THE SEASON OF SELLING FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES, FOOD AND VETERINARY SERVICE REMINDS ONCE AGAIN:

  1. Consumers have rights to demand full information about the food products from the trader, including information about the origin and producer of goods, if this information is not indicated on the product.

If traders have not indicated noticeable information about origin country of the goods, or if you suspect that country of origin indicated on the good does not correspond the truth, demand extra information!

  1. If trader claims that goods have Latvian origin, ask for exact place of the origin and name of the farm.

Name of the farm or sole proprietor has to be indicated on the product.

  1. If trader refuses to provide information about the origin of the goods, do not hesitate to inform either market’s administration, trade organizers, municipality which has provided street trade license or Food Veterinary service – 67027402. Choose an honest trader!
