To whom should I report operation of suspicious power plants or cogeneration plants?

• Power plants, that produce electricity from renewable energy sources (hydroelectric power plants, wind power plants, biogas and biomass power plants) and cogeneration, receive significant financial support from the state, therefore the operation of these plants is strictly controlled.
• If you have information that a power plant is acting strangely, for example, it uses the produced heat inefficiently (“releases it into the air”), you suspect that fraud is taking place with measuring instruments or accounting documents, or you have noticed other dishonest activities, then you can’t remain silent! From 1 January, 2020, the State Construction Control Bureau (BVKB) started to administrate the energetics policy of the Republic of Latvia, so report a possible violation by writing to pasts@bvkb.gov.lv !
• BVKB supervises and controls the mechanism of mandatory procurement of electricity in more than 300 power plants throughout Latvia.
